Voices of Impact: Local leaders talk early childhood education and the workforce

The Greater Together e-newsletter is launching Voices of Impact, a new video series from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. Each episode will feature two individuals discussing a topic that’s directly interconnected with the Foundation. Topics will range from Foundation initiatives to issues impacting the greater Milwaukee area.

In this first episode of Voices of Impact, Laura Gutiérrez, CEO, United Community Center and Tamara Johnson, executive director and principal, Malaika Early Learning Center, sit down to discuss early childhood education.

Often described as the “workforce behind the workforce,” Gutiérrez and Johnson share their expertise on the critical role early childhood education plays in a region’s economic mobility, its future leaders and its collaboration efforts.

Through their conversation, they look at ways the Greater Milwaukee Foundation convenes groups and people – from parents and providers to donors and business owners – to strengthen the early childhood sector and create community-based solutions.
